Peninsula Health implementing the InfoMedix scanned medical record system.
As a result of the tender that closed in 2010, Peninsula Health is now well underway with implementation of the InfoMedix system. The implementation will enable scanning of medical records forms at the end of each episode of care. Those forms will then be available securely on-line rather than having to rely on the paper-based record. This will result in lower Health Information Services costs, improved services for clinicians and the clinical benefit of a consolidated medical record across Peninsula Health sites. Whilst the health service will gradually replace paper medical records forms with electronic forms and clinical systems over time, this solution is a cost effective transitional step that provides many benefits associated with an electronic medical record.
